GBA SARL has a modern industrial depot in Diamniadio equipped with storage tanks for used oils, hydrocarbon waste and oily water, as well as a DAF treatment unit for effluents and an incinerator that complies with international environmental standards.
Pollution Control Unit
The pollution control division encompasses all activities related to combating industrial and environmental pollution and managing waste generated by human activities. Our services include:

- Pumping and removal of petroleum products in the event of accidental or chronic pollution.
- Pumping and cleaning of sanitation networks, pits and pipes, to keep your facilities clean and functional.
Recovery Unit
The recovery division focuses on recycling and recovering value from industrial waste, transforming products previously considered useless into usable resources. Our services include:
- Treatment and recovery of oily water, for responsible and sustainable management of liquid waste.
- Incineration of soiled rags and safe destruction of oil drums and filters.
- Industrial sludge treatment, in compliance with environmental standards.
What used oil is
Used oil is mineral or synthetic oil that has become unsuitable for its originally intended use. Used oils are hazardous waste: they contain many elements that are toxic to health and the environment — heavy metals, organic acids, phenols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
Poorly biodegradable, they must be recycled by approved companies. Like all hazardous waste, oils must not be disposed of down the drain or in nature: one litre of oil can cover 1,000 m² of water and prevent the oxygenation of underwater flora and fauna for several years.
Industry stakeholders
The actors in the sector are the holders or producers of used oils, the collectors and the eliminators, who are subject to a series of obligations mentioned in Interministerial Decree No. 9311 of 5 October 2007 concerning the management of used oils.
Holders must collect used oils from their facilities and store them under satisfactory separation conditions, avoiding in particular mixing with water or any other non-oily waste (solvents, coolants). They are obliged either to hand them over to an approved collector, or to transport them themselves in order to hand them over to an approved disposal company, or to ensure their own disposal, provided they hold an approval.
Collectors are responsible for gathering, consolidating and transporting batches of used oil from multiple owners to disposal sites. To operate, collectors must hold a collection permit, and must deliver the oil collected to authorised disposal facilities. For traceability purposes, they are required to establish a collection slip stating the origin, quantities, type of oil collected and the identity and signature of the collector at the time of collection, then to send each month a receipt slip from the approved disposal company stating the tonnage, quantity and type of oil received.
All natural or legal persons who operate a waste oil treatment facility, or who meet in their classified establishment the technical conditions required for energy recovery, are considered eliminators. In Senegal, the Interministerial Decree authorises two routes of disposal: energy recovery — by incineration or co-incineration at a temperature of at least 1,400 °C — and regeneration.
